poetry

i can not tell you now
you say you love me
i am singing to you
my soul goes clad in gorgeous things
though love repine, and reason chafe
the shadows of the ships
but i cannot read you now
do not turn your head
to some the fat gods
in new york harbor
she was a beauty in the days
are you awake?
there are three ways in which men take
give me
