acrostic poem

did you ever see an alligator
now for a brisk and cheerful fight
star-dust and vaporous light
woman much missed, how you call to me, call to me
braided and woven
gloom
looking beyond
give me
have you not heard
in new york harbor
if the red slayer think he slays
