slam poetry

my true love from her pillow rose
they may talk of love in a cottage
muffled drum's sad roll has beat
i made a vow once, one only
last night the full moon laid a cloth of white
this is the arsenal
in and of itself
a bird sang
simply speaking
like eagles on up high
