The old jazz number "T'Ain't What You Do (It's the Way That You Do It)" isn't the kind of music they play in "Passing Strange." The song's title, though, perfectly nails the show's appeal. The musical, which opened Thursday night at the Belasco Theatre, is about a teenager growing into manhood.
