narrative poetry

when you come tonight
better than granite
simply speaking
my mother taught me that every night
listen
for i was a gaunt, grave councillor
she burst fierce wine
i loved a woman
of sun nor stars
stern cold man
though love repine, and reason chafe
some one complained to the master
