daughter poem

glooms of the live-oaks
for truth, for love
not from the whole wide world
when i was broke in london
and breaketh bread no more
daughters of time
the little white prayers
i expect you
o fair and stately maid, whose eyes
over the river they beckon to me
somewhere i read a strange, old, rusty tale
have you seen walking through the village
from our hidden places
