romantic love poem

the pale day drowses on the western steep
somewhere i read a strange, old, rusty tale
storm
suddenly, out of dark and leafy ways
darkest, strangest mystery
all day to watch the blue wave curl and break
do you think, my boy, when i put my arms around you
i loathed you
if i had known how narrow a prison is love
when i looked into your eyes
the little pitiful, worn, laughing faces
i've won the race
